Payment options

Flexible ways to manage veterinary costs

Veterinary fees are payable at the time services are provided. When an unexpected bill is difficult to manage, approved third-party payment services may offer another way to spread the cost.

Paying at the clinic

Payment at the time of service

Payment is normally required when your consultation, procedure or hospital stay is completed. For planned care, you can ask for an estimate before treatment. Estimates may change when examination findings, test results or your pet’s response to treatment mean the plan needs to be adjusted.

Deposits

When a deposit is required

A deposit is required before some planned and in-hospital care. The amount is based on your treatment estimate, and the team will confirm it with you before your pet is admitted.

  • Surgery, including desexing
  • Dental procedures under anaesthetic
  • Hospital stays and ongoing in-hospital treatment
  • Other higher-cost procedures or investigations

Your deposit is deducted from the final account, and the remaining balance is payable when your pet goes home. If your pet’s treatment needs to change, we will contact you to discuss an updated estimate wherever possible.

Third-party payment organisations

Vets for Pets works with VetPay and Afterpay. Applications and transaction approvals are made by the provider, not by the veterinary clinic, and current eligibility, limits, fees and terms apply.

1
Use or apply for an Afterpay accountClients must meet Afterpay’s eligibility requirements and complete its assessment process.
2
Approval occurs for each purchaseAvailable-to-spend limits and individual transactions are determined by Afterpay.
3

Important financial information: VetPay and Afterpay are separate third-party providers. Approval is not guaranteed. Fees, credit checks, limits and repayment obligations are controlled by the provider and may change.
